Green Homes in San Antonio, TX

Imagine Homes is proud to have received our 6th Green Building Award from the National Association of Home Builders. Many builders say they are "green", but what does that mean? A green home integrates the various systems in the home to save energy, conserve water and provide healthy air. Visit our interactive green home to find out more about each energy efficient part.

NAHB Green Building AwardsWhat separates Imagine Homes from other builders? The answer is, using the latest technology, third-party testing and third-party certification for every home.

Building New Homes with the Latest Green Technology

We are leading the way in building beautiful homes with the latest in new green building technology through the use of open cell foam insulation (which keeps the attic within 8 degrees of the indoor temperature year-round for extreme comfort). Spray foam insulation with sealed, semi-conditioned attic space keeps the attic so cool it doesn't melt chocolate! A comfortable attic means you will have a comfortable home and save money. Also, low-e double-pane, vinyl-frame windows, 16 S.E.E.R. (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) HVAC System, dual flush high-efficiency toilets, and more, contribute to comfort and savings. This national award winning system delivers high performance new homes to San Antonio home buyers that result in savings of up to 50% on new home heating and cooling costs.

Quality Energy Star Certified Homes

Committed to building 100% Energy StarWith the latest changes in the Energy Star program, Imagine Homes is one of the few homebuilders in San Antonio that currently qualifies as a 100% certified Energy Star homebuilder. This means all Imagine homes meet the Energy Star criteria, and every home is tested and certified. The third-party inspections, duct blaster and blower door performance testing are performed on every Imagine Home to verify the high performance specifications for each home are executed as planned.

The Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index is the industry standard by which a home's energy efficiency is measured. It's also the nationally recognized system for inspecting and calculating a home's energy performance. A certified Home Energy Rater assesses the energy efficiency of a home, assigning it a relative performance score. The lower the number, the more energy efficient, affordable, and comfortable the home will be.

HERS Index

The U.S. Department of Energy has determined that a typical resale home scores 130 on the HERS® Index while a standard new home is awarded a rating of 100. By comparison, most Imagine Homes achieve a rating in the 50's meaning our homes are up to 50% more efficient than a standard new home! Imagine Homes Outperforms

At Imagine Homes we are outperforming the other builders who say they are green. With advanced thermal, moisture and air protection through Dow products and our green building technology, our homes already provide you a savings of 50% or more on utility bills over a typical new home built to code. DOW R-3 half-inch foam sheathing at all exterior walls minimizes unwanted air movement through the wall cavity. Plus, our method of installing windows by using DOW sill sealant, window flashing tape, and window sill pans provides water intrusion protection and reduced air infiltration. Why buy an obsolete new home when an Imagine Home takes you beyond?
